B. Michael

B. Michael was another offsite show. The women’s pieces was not very impressive but I totally loved the men’s collection of printed, structured suits. I know B. Michael is known for his sophisticated evening dress, but the fabrics and design used for the women’s collection was rather plain. B. Michael should really stick to what he obviously does best, and that is making fanatics suites for men.

Rubin Singer

Rubin Singer had some really interesting pieces, such as his mixing of strips with polka dots. The best of his collection was is flowing chiffon dress with printed painted pallets. They were one of the best prints I have seen in this new obsession of all things painted on fabric, it was futuristic meets old world Monet.

Yigal Azrouël Spring 2009

Was an offsite show, had some interesting type pieces, the draping thing has been done too many time to mention it as ingénue, and the swim suits, were well....let’s just say he should not bother trying to design them unless he can do better. Yigal’s dress on the other hand were gorgeous, very flowing while still be a hint of avant guard like.

Perry Ellis Spring 2009

The Perry Ellis collection was totally understated with a hint of California cool, nautical looks came down the runway with Lenin, suits, pants, and shorts while, pretty vets, jackets and plaids and strips with khakis shorts add a collegiate look down the runway. The Khaki dotted jacket was my favourite funky look.

BCBG Max Azria Spring 2009

Max Azria always knocks us out with his unique take on colourful high end pieces, BCBG in French means “bon chic bon genre” meaning "good style, good class", and this collection speaks for the designer classic modern spring collection. The colours were fresh, which complement a collection of sophisticated pieces, but of course that would always be BCBC a thing.
